About the Role

Our client is recruiting a talented Postdoctoral Researcher to focus on Plant Genomics within their dynamic research facility in George . This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking studies in crop improvement and sustainable agriculture. You will be instrumental in applying advanced genomic technologies to identify key genes and understand complex plant traits. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced research in plant genomics , utilizing next-generation sequencing technologies.
  • Develop and implement bioinformatic pipelines for the analysis of large-scale genomic data.
  • Identify and characterize genes associated with important agronomic traits in various plant species.
  • Design and execute controlled experiments to validate genetic findings.
  • Collaborate with breeders and agronomists to translate genomic insights into practical applications.
  • Present research findings at scientific conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Plant Science, Genomics, Genetics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with genomic data analysis and bioinformatics tools.
  • Strong understanding of molecular biology and plant physiology.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to research challenges.
  • Experience working in a laboratory and field research setting in George .
