Position:
Sushi Chef
Job Type: Part-Time (3 days per week)
We are seeking a talented and creative Sushi Chef to join our team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be crucial in delivering exceptional sushi and creating a memorable dining experience for our customers. You will work three days a week, with one day dedicated to prepping and ensuring everything is ready for service.
Responsibilities- Prepare and serve a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and attention to detail.
- Develop and contribute to the creation of innovative sushi rolls and dishes, incorporating seasonal and fresh ingredients.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of all sushi and food items served.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Prepare and maintain inventory, ensuring fresh ingredients are always available and stored properly.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with customer requests and offer recommendations on sushi menu items when needed.
- Dedicate one day a week for prep work, including fish cutting, vegetable prep, and ensuring all sushi ingredients are prepped and ready for service.
- Proven experience as a sushi chef or in a similar role, with solid knowledge of sushi techniques and preparation.
- Strong creativity and a passion for culinary arts, particularly in sushi and Japanese cuisine.
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate within a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and ability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
- Flexibility and willingness to work three days a week, including prep days.
