Culinary Service Associate - Private School |
Location:
Dallas, TX 75244
Compensation: $18 per hour| Full-Time
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm
Join a fast-paced team where great food and great service go hand in hand. The Culinary Service Associate supports daily kitchen and dining operations by preparing, portioning, and serving food while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service. This role works closely with cooks, supervisors, and other team members to ensure smooth meal service and a positive dining experience.

- Assist cooks and kitchen staff with the preparation and serving of food items according to standardized recipes and menus.
- Serve food efficiently and courteously to students, staff, and guests.
- Set up and maintain service stations with appropriate supplies and food items throughout meal periods.
- Operate equipment such as grills, ovens, slicers, and dishwashing machines safely and correctly.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food service areas, including counters, equipment, and dining spaces.
- Communicate supply needs or equipment issues to supervisors promptly.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment following food safety protocols.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and guests; respond to questions and accommodate special requests as appropriate.
- Restock supplies and assist with inventory control as needed.
- Store food properly in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage and cross-contamination.
- Support the overall success of the dining operation by working collaboratively with the culinary and service team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or a related field is a plus
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and occasional special events
- Serv Safe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- This job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibration may occur. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
