Job DescriptionTITLE: Cafeteria Worker
DUTY DAYS: 182 days
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma/GED
REPORTS TO: Cafeteria Manager
FLSA: Non-Exempt
JOB GOAL: To successfully assist in the preparation of all of the meals, serving
PAY GRADE: Auxillary salary schedule
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:- Must have excellent health
- Be able to read, adjust and follow standardized recipes
- Be able to perform physical labor, including standing for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift heavy objects
- Must be able to have hands in water for long periods of time
- Knows and understands the safe, proper, and efficient use of kitchen equipment
- To efficiently serve meals, in a clean friendly atmosphere, to students and staff
- Assist in preparation of food portions and helps with next day's preparation
- Serve students and staff at scheduled time and location
- Use portion control standards as set by Cafeteria Manager
- Maintains high standard of safety and cleanliness
- Follows instructions given on work schedule
- Assumes responsibility for the safe proper and effective use of kitchen equipment
- Follows planned menu and standardized recipes in the preparation of food
- Assists in cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans
- Assists in cleaning the cafeteria after each meal and special events
- Assists with special activities as needed
- Maintains a friendly attitude toward fellow workers, staff and students
- Performs other duties that are requested by the Cafeteria Manager or District Food Director.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: Frequent district wide travel; occasional statewide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
