Shift Pattern: Full availability including nights, weekends and holidays
The ideal Sous Chef candidate is a passionate, disciplined culinary professional with a strong foundation in high‑volume kitchen operations. They bring a minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef and 5 years of experience working the hot line in a fast‑paced restaurant. While hotel experience is preferred, it is not required; what matters most is adaptability, teamwork, and the desire to grow in a dynamic hospitality environment.
This candidate thrives under pressure, communicates clearly, leads by example, and maintains a positive, solution‑focused attitude. Flexible availability is essential, as they will support a variety of shifts to meet the needs of a busy, guest‑driven operation.
As Sous Chef, you would be responsible for assisting with the direction and oversight of Media Grill + Bar operations in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, a Sous Chef would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Support the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine in daily kitchen operations.
- Lead and supervise line cooks to ensure consistent food quality and presentation.
- Assist with menu execution, recipe adherence, and maintaining culinary standards.
- Oversee prep work, station organization, and timely service during high‑volume periods.
- Monitor food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness across all kitchen areas.
- Help manage inventory, ordering, and proper storage of products.
- Train and mentor staff to maintain high performance and teamwork.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards.
