About the Role
Our Restaurant Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring that guests have a positive dining experience. Servers are expected to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor, be knowledgeable about the menu, and work efficiently to meet the needs of customers.
Responsibilities- Greet guests as they arrive and provide them with menus.
- Take food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring accuracy and understanding of customer preferences.
- Communicate orders to kitchen staff and ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages.
- Serve food and drinks to guests in a timely and professional manner.
- Check on guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any needs or concerns.
- Answer questions about the menu, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Suggest menu items and upsell food and beverages to enhance the guest experience.
- Prepare tables for service, including setting silverware, napkins, and condiments.
- Clear and clean tables after guests finish their meals, reset for the next guests.
- Handle cash, process payments, and provide change accurately.
- Maintain knowledge of daily specials, promotions, and menu changes.
- Collaborate with other restaurant staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns in a calm and professional manner, escalating to management when necessary.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, such as stocking supplies, cleaning, and organizing the dining area.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Previous experience in a customer service or restaurant role is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service.
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
