Server​/Busser

Overview

The purpose of this position is to interact with guests and ensure they have a great experience while dining vers are responsible for positive interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. Servers are expected to be attentive to guest’s needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, and relaxed at all times.

• Clean/prepare tables, fill napkin dispensers, refill condiments, wrap silverware
• Knowledge of current menu and specials
• Direct guests to tables, present menus, suggest dishes, assist in selections, inform guests of menu item details, and communicate orders to the kitchen via the POS system
• Maintain proper dining experience, deliver food/drink, fulfill customer needs, remove dishes, replenish utensils, refill glasses
• Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payments, return change
• Bus/clean tables immediately after guests leave
• Perform cleaning tasks as needed or directed by the Manager
• Fill in for absent staff as needed or as directed
• Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards as described in the Employee Handbook
• Know and apply correct IDing procedures for alcohol consumption/purchase
• Be ready and willing to assist other servers as needed
• Wash dishes as assigned by manager and/or during slow periods only
• Keep restrooms clean and stocked with necessary supplies

• Be able to communicate clearly
• Basic knowledge of food presentation, preparation, and handling
• Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate POS system
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Be able to safely lift and maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 25 pounds
• Punctuality and reliable attendance
