The Server Assistant supports the restaurant service team by maintaining a clean, organized, and guest‑ready dining environment. This role ensures tables are set, cleared, and reset efficiently; assists with food running and beverage support as needed; and helps the service team deliver a polished, welcoming experience that reflects Grand Hyatt standards.

Key Responsibilities

Service Support

  • Assist servers in delivering exceptional guest service through attentive dining room support.
  • Help run food, deliver beverages, and respond to guest requests promptly and professionally (as directed).
  • Refill water, stock condiments, and maintain table presentation throughout service.

Table Maintenance

  • Clear, clean, and reset tables quickly and accurately to support smooth seating flow.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, dining room, and back‑of‑house support areas.
  • Properly handle used dishware, glassware, and utensils; transport items to stewarding according to procedure.

Set‑Up, Stocking & Side Work

  • Set up dining areas for meal periods (linens, settings, menus, stations) according to outlet standards.
  • Restock supplies such as silverware, glassware, napkins, ice, coffee supplies, and to‑go packaging.
  • Assist with opening/closing duties and basic cleaning tasks to maintain outlet readiness.

Safety, Sanitation & Standards

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, including proper handling of clean/soiled items.
  • Use safe lifting and carrying techniques; maintain a clean, hazard‑free work environment.
  • Support compliance with hotel policies and brand standards.

Qualifications
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Strong teamwork mindset and willingness to assist wherever needed during service.
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to moderate weight (trays, racks, supplies; varies by operation).
  • Professional appearance and positive, guest‑focused communication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a restaurant, hotel, or high‑volume hospitality environment.
  • Familiarity with basic food & beverage service standards and dining room setup.
  • Food handler certification (if required by local regulation) or willingness to obtain.
