The RoleWe re looking for a Cook who enjoys preparing nutritious meals and serving a community in need. In this role, you ll prepare daily breakfasts and lunches (Monday–Friday) for residents who are medically unable to cook for themselves or who need additional support.
You ll collaborate with our case management team to ensure meals meet residents dietary and nutritional needs, while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment.
What You ll Do- Prepare and serve healthy breakfasts and lunches for residents each weekday
- Follow special dietary requirements for medically compromised residents
- Assist with weekly menu planning
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization (equipment, pantry, utensils)
- Create and manage food and supply lists
- Follow Texas food service sanitation regulations
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of cooking experience in an institutional, commercial, or similar kitchen
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
- Valid driver s license
- Commitment to working respectfully with diverse communities
- Passion for service and helping others
To maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment, staff follow standard food service guidelines, including wearing a chef s coat, apron, hair restraint, and slip-resistant shoes while preparing meals.
