Out of the Closet Thrift Store (OTC) was founded in 1990 to help raise funds and awareness for AIDS Healthcare Foundation. When you shop or donate at Out of the Closet, a large portion of the proceeds support AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s HIV prevention and treatment services. OTC offers high-quality HIV testing services at all locations. By choosing OTC, you’re contributing to the community and supporting the fight against HIV and AIDS.

An OTC cashier contributes to AHF s mission by presenting a friendly, helpful face to shoppers, donors, people seeking testing or pharmacy patrons. Responsibilities include ringing up sales, answering customers’ questions, and delivering standout service that enhances the reputation of AHF and encourages repeat visits and referrals. Precision in handling cash and credit purchases protects AHF and maximizes store revenue. The cashier can enhance the experience of other OTC employees by being friendly, offering help when needed, and providing feedback to management about how service could be improved.

The role requires adaptability and flexibility to contribute consistently in various situations.
