- Education:
High School Diploma or GED - Experience:
3 years in a high public contact/customer service‑related position, including 1 year as a Parking Enforcement Officer or related role - Driver’s License:
Class "C" Texas Driver License with an acceptable record to operate a university vehicle upon hire
- Perform duties with limited supervision and make independent decisions following established guidelines
- Interpret parking regulations and state laws to enforce parking violations
- Travel to offsite clinic (UTSW Satellite) locations to enforce parking rules and perform space capacity counts
- Investigate and resolve parking complaints proactively and on call, issuing warning notices or citations as necessary
- Operate hand‑held parking enforcement technology and in‑vehicle license plate recognition systems to identify violations and suspended vehicles
- Notify the supervisor of unusual circumstances and situations requiring enhanced enforcement (e.g., immobilizing boots or towing)
- Conduct daily vacancy counts of parking facilities and log results in the parking management system
- Provide information to customers regarding general information, directions, and parking related issues to increase voluntary compliance
- Assist motorists with stalled cars, flat tires, or lockouts
- Provide action and/or information regarding parking incidents when requested by supervisor, administration, or the Traffic and Parking Appeals Committee
- Immediately report criminal activity, traffic problems, and other campus‑related problems to the dispatcher
- Recommend traffic control and parking sign improvements to department leadership
- Interact with employees and visitors professionally, demonstrating high customer service engagement
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to parking equipment (gates, pay‑on‑foot stations)
- Perform other duties as needed
This position is security‑sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
