The Role
As a Cashier, you play an essential role in the customer service experience by providing customers with fast and friendly service. You will process transactions, answer questions, and ensure customers leave feeling positive about their visit. While both part‑time and full‑time positions generally focus on being a cashier, you may also be assigned as a sales associate or merchandiser/stock associate. Internally, you will be referred to Front End Team Member and report to the store management team.
Responsibilities- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including identification verification, payment handling, answering inquiries, promoting loyalty program, and bagging product.
- Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers, engaging to build relationships, and informing about products and services.
- Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge.
- Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment.
- Complete cross‑functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
- Expect a short‑term seasonal assignment if the posting is coded as seasonal (no longer than six months); you can apply for a non‑seasonal role thereafter.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Passion for best‑in‑class customer service and a team‑player mindset.
- 1–3 years of work experience, with 1+ year in a retail setting preferred.
- Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems and inventory management software.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8–10 hours a day.
- Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets.
- Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead repeatedly.
- May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday.
