The Bakery Clerk works under direct supervision of the Bakery Manager to provide customer service for the bakery. Key duties include assisting customers with bakery purchases, cleaning shelving and display cases, maintaining self‑serve displays, taking special orders, working with the baker to determine items to be baked or decorated, and helping with department cleaning (hosing floors, etc.). The role involves a fast‑paced grocery environment, lifting up to 60 pounds, standing, walking, kneeling, and meeting visual and auditory requirements.

• Read and write Spanish and English, interact with general public and co‑workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
