About the RoleWe’re in the midst of an exciting growth phase and looking for an Associate Buyer. This role is responsible for ensuring alignment with the brand’s premium Western lifestyle identity, while driving product selection, vendor partnerships, and inventory strategy to maximize sales, margin, and customer satisfaction across all retail and e-commerce channels. This is a highly collaborative role that partners closely with the men’s and women’s apparel/boot buyers, marketing, and store merchandising to deliver a seamless, elevated shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities Merchandise Strategy & Buying- Develop seasonal and annual buying plans.
- Identify emerging trends in Western lifestyle markets and translate into compelling assortments.
- Select products that align with brand standards of craftsmanship, authenticity, and quality.
- Identify and develop private label opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and artisans.
- Negotiate pricing, exclusives, delivery timelines, and terms to optimize margins.
- Source new vendors, including heritage Western brands and boutique makers.
- Manage OTB (Open-to-Buy) budgets and ensure financial targets are met.
- Analyze sales performance, sell-through, and inventory turnover.
- Adjust buys and reorders based on performance and demand forecasting.
- Oversee product from concept through delivery and in-store presentation.
- Partner with planning and store merchandising teams to ensure optimal inventory distribution.
- Manage markdowns and promotional strategies.
- Work closely with marketing, visual merchandising, and e-commerce to ensure cohesive storytelling.
- Partner with store leadership to understand customer preferences and regional trends.
- Maintain understanding of the customer—affluent, Western lifestyle-oriented, and quality-driven.
- Ensure product assortment meets customer expectations for everyday luxury and special purchases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Fashion, or related field.
- 5–10+ years of retail buying experience, preferably in accessories, Western wear, or luxury goods.
- Strong understanding of Western lifestyle brands and craftsmanship.
- Proven negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Analytical mindset with experience using retail metrics and planning tools.
- Excellent taste level and trend awareness.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
