What will you do?
The Key Account Manager for this Building Automation account is responsible for expanding the engagement and business with key Data Center Clients and driving new business within specific General Contractors in the Data Center Vertical Market. This position requires ownership of the commercial relationship between Schneider Electric and Clients. The role requires working with preconstruction and operations teams to develop and deliver commercial proposals.
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new customers. The position will require the individual to travel 50% of the time. As a member of the NSA team, the individual will collaborate with our local Branches as well as other Schneider business units. It will require weekly interaction with Sales to identify opportunities related to the Building Automation work and to coordinate the necessary sales strategy for success in closing new business.
This position is supported by responsibilities including calling on end users, general contractors, and other members of the value chain, working with the appropriate internal teams to produce BMS solutions, taking responsibility for the pricing and commercial engagement, and proposal writing and delivery.
Responsibilities- Develop existing and new BMS opportunities
- Lead engagement with key General Contractors to establish relationships, uncover new projects, and establish the Schneider BMS offer within the GC.
- Prepare and manage a comprehensive response to highly technical RFPs from General Contractors.
- Establish key relationships within the customer’s business.
- Coherent in Data Center Control Technologies (BMS, EPMS) and platforms (DDC, PLC)
- Make sales presentations directly to customers to deliver value-add ideas.
- Maintain and renew existing account agreements
- Participate in industry specific regional and national trade shows
- Collaborate with Branch offices on local service and support capabilities to ensure that scope of maintenance can be supported
- Collaborate with other Business Unit Sales related to Data Centers
- May prepare take-off and estimate costs of prospective sales opportunities and work closely with Estimating Group
- Develop and implement sales strategies and tactics for individual opportunities
- Prepare sales quotations and proposals
- Promote Schneider Electric’s partnership with data analytics software offer
- Four (4) year college degree required. Mechanical Engineering degree a plus.
- 3+ years related work experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Word, Excel and Power Point
- Excellent organizational skills
- Building Automation product knowledge
- Mechanical background
- HVAC Controls background
