The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving new business growth by actively targeting and securing strategic agreements with major live event organizers, music promoters, and large‑scale venue operators. This role is critical in positioning our company as the preferred or exclusive provider of barricade and crowd‑management solutions for concerts, festivals, sporting events, and other high‑profile public gatherings. The ideal candidate is a strategic seller with a proven track record in B2B sales within the live event or venue management sectors, possessing excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex, time‑sensitive agreements.
Compensation
:
Base salary plus commission with on‑target earnings (OTE) of $130,000+ annually.
- Achieving Revenue Targets:
Meet or exceed growth sales targets by building a portfolio of brand new accounts and successfully onboarding them into Boston Retail Solutions.
- Develop relationships in the live event space and strengthen both new and existing relationships with event venues.
- Drive strategic engagements by identifying the right contacts, creating compelling presentations, and providing consultative solutions that demonstrate the value of a barricade partnership.
- Lead the agreement process, managing the full cycle from drafting and negotiating contracts to collaborating with internal operations for seamless onboarding and execution.
- Possibly develop business relationships with a select group of A and B‑class retail properties or commercial developers within the assigned market.
- Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities through effective solution sales techniques and full sales cycle management.
- Demonstrate strong sales acumen, product knowledge, and a client‑centric approach to relationship management.
- Build and maintain long‑lasting client relationships, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Use sales strategies to achieve and exceed individual sales quotas.
- Create compelling proposals and deliver engaging presentations to prospective and existing developer clients.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and market demands to identify new growth opportunities.
- Work closely with design, production, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system, providing regular performance reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience) required.
- 5+ years of proven B2B sales experience with a track record of securing contracts and long‑term agreements with enterprise‑level or live event clients.
- Experience with retail general contractors is highly preferred.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong customer relationship management skills and excellent verbal skills.
- Ability to communicate with multiple organizational levels, including C‑Suite.
- Strong business acumen and ability to understand complex client needs.
- Experience with Hub Spot or relevant CRM tools for prospecting.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills; self‑starter working independently.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and results‑driven.
- Ability to learn and articulate technical product information.
- Resilient in the face of rejection and capable of balancing patience with persistence.
- Displays a competitive spirit while playing within the rules.
- Demonstrated quantifiable history of identifying and closing business with new customers.

- Competent in Google Workspace.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.

- Full‑time exempt position requiring at least 40 hours per week with additional hours as needed. Typical schedule Monday‑Friday day shift, with flexibility for evenings, nights, and weekends.
