Employee Benefits Account Executive
HUB International is a global insurance broker. The Employee Benefits Account Executive will recommend appropriate lines of coverage, monitor client plan expenditures throughout the year, control costs when needed, maintain knowledge of legislative updates, and advise clients on how changes affect plan designs and costs.
Responsibilities- Develop current, referral, and new client relationships.
- Provide benefits review and RFP processes through strategic planning.
- Develop and communicate sound renewal strategies to clients.
- Participate in the sale of new business and renewals to clients and prospects.
- Track renewal dates by client & policy, and coordinate renewal activities with vendors and clients.
- Complete RFP paperwork for group life, health, disability, wellness, EAP, AD&D, and other group benefit products, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Consolidate RFP data and vendor product information for client presentations.
- Make client presentations and resolve questions to close sales.
- Coordinate client service with account managers as needed.
- Communicate case status with producers, marketing assistants, account managers, and clients.
- Ensure sold business cases are completed with account managers and marketing assistants.
- Prepare monthly Critical Path reports.
- Present client mid-year reviews.
- Stay current on new products, marketing concepts, and related legislation.
- Attend continuing education courses and seminars to grow professionally.
- Travel to prospect and client locations as required for sales calls, enrollment meetings, policy delivery, problem resolution, and goodwill visits.
- Back up account managers when needed; correspond with clients, resolve issues, provide guidance, and conduct enrollment meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree (4-year degree).
- 5+ years of related brokerage experience, including support for the large group market (100+ lives).
- Self-funding experience preferred but not required.
- Knowledgeable of health and group insurance products, general financial practices, policy servicing, and application processing.
- Group I license for life and health required.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel; ability to learn benefit spreadsheet development and preparation.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills with formal presentation experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to present before clients/groups with poise and confidence.
- Organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and flexible with changing priorities.
- Leadership, sales, team, and customer-service orientation.
- Good decision-making ability and independent abstract thinking skills.
