The Territory Consultant is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with independent convenience store owners, presenting a proven food service program, and managing the customer experience from prospecting through installation and launch. The ideal candidate enjoys prospecting, building relationships, solving business challenges, and seeing projects through from initial conversation to successful implementation. Responsibilities
  • Develop new business through cold calling, referrals, networking, trade shows, and prospecting activities.
  • Build relationships with independent convenience store owners throughout an assigned territory.
  • Present and sell a proven business solution that increases customer revenue and profitability.
  • Effectively communicate return on investment and long-term value to prospective customers.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through customer onboarding, installation, and launch.
  • Coordinate equipment installation and manage with store setup.
  • Train store owners and employees on program implementation and operational best practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by helping customers identify opportunities to improve sales and profitability.
  • Develop and execute a territory growth plan to identify, prioritize, and convert new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and daily sales activity in Salesforce CRM.
  • Travel throughout a 150–200-mile territory to develop new business and support customer launches.
  • Represent the organization with professionalism, integrity, and exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of outside sales, route sales, equipment sales, territory management, or business development experience required; distribution industry experience preferred. Project management or customer implementation experience is a plus.
  • Proven success generating new business through prospecting, cold calling, and relationship-building activities.
  • Experience selling to independently owned businesses preferred.
  • Experience building long-term customer relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Coachable with the ability to learn and follow a structured sales process.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a territory independently.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize a large geographic territory.
  • Comfortable with hands-on responsibilities, including equipment installation and customer training.
  • Proficiency with CRM software;
    Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and travel daily throughout the assigned territory.
