Overview
Salesforce is looking for an Area Vice President, Sales, Higher Education to lead growth, drive revenue, and build a high‑performing sales organization for the Higher Education Business Unit. This executive sits on the Sales Leadership Team and reports to the SVP & GM, Higher Education.

Responsibilities- Help set and implement Salesforce’s Higher Education sales strategy.
- Lead a growing sales organization, including four Regional Vice Presidents and thirty‑five Account Executives.
- Set and execute an aggressive customer acquisition strategy to drive revenue and bookings.
- Maintain key customer relationships and develop strategies for expanding the Enterprise customer base.
- Drive reporting and accountability, exceeding quotas and developing incentive tools.
- Act as a strategic thought leader and advisor to the SVP.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional executives and partners to ensure success.
- Manage the overall sales process, establish metrics for sales funnel management.
- Strong 1st and 2nd line leadership experience leading strategic enterprise sales teams.
- Deep industry expertise in the Higher Education sector.
- Deep industry expertise in top 100 technology companies.
- Consistent over achievement of quota and revenue goals.
- 12+ years in software and/or application enterprise sales, ideally in CRM, ERP or similar.
- 5+ years of leadership experience.
- Proven ability to drive transformational change across a large organization.
- Excellent operational and analytical abilities.
- Track record of leading complex enterprise deals and building satisfied customers.
- Experience selling cloud‑based enterprise applications preferred.
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience (mandatory).
The typical base salary range for this position is $239,400 – $320,200 annually, with potential for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits. Salary may vary by location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, mental health support, paid parental leave, life and disability insurance, 401(k), and employee stock purchasing program.
