State Market Manager at Rocketship Brand Company

We’re seeking a dynamic State Market Manager to drive growth, build strong distributor and account relationships, and lead sales initiatives in your region.
What You’ll Do- Independently manage key on- and off-premise accounts, developing strong relationships and executing portfolio strategies.
- Lead, direct, train, and manage area distributor sales teams to achieve fiscal year sales goals.
- Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with market trends, consumer needs, and brand objectives.
- Regularly visit key accounts and collaborate with distributors to drive volume and achieve sales objectives.
- Participate in local events that align with brand strategies, ensuring visibility and engagement.
- Monitor market activity, analyze competitive trends, and provide actionable feedback to leadership.
- Maintain a detailed calendar of activities, promotions, and key account visits.
- Lead in-store sampling to promote portfolio.
- Provide bi-weekly market reports and ensure accurate, timely communication with supervisors and distributor teams.
- Travel as needed to support other markets and opportunities.
- 80 % time in the Field (on own, with wholesaler reps or Rocketship Brand Company managers)
- 10 % time on Wholesaler interaction (in the market or at the wholesaler)
- 10 % time on Administrative, pre‑planning, and Follow‑up.
- A four‑year college degree and/or equivalent field experience.
- Proven experience managing sales in the wine and spirits industry or a similar field.
- Strong leadership, relationship‑building, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while driving distributor alignment and field‑level execution.
- Passion for emerging brands, trends, and delivering exceptional products.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet business demands.
- Current valid driver’s license.
- Overnight travel as required and must be able to meet a minimum travel schedule for assigned territories.
- No DWI offenses or illegal drug use.
- Must reside in the state of the job posting.
