Identifying & Securing new clients for assigned sector(s).
Reports ToDirector of the Sector
General Characteristics- Primary responsibility is sales with an emphasis on “New Sales” – new clients, new markets, new business lines within sector.
- Business development: identify and pursue new client/project opportunities through networking, proposals and presentations.
- Networking: attend industry conferences, workshops, and networking events to promote the firm and establish connections.
- See and be seen.
- Sales strategy development: create and implement effective sales strategies to capture new business opportunities.
- New sales, new markets and new programs are expected and measured. Responsible for overall practice sales goal.
- Cross-selling and upselling: identify opportunities to offer additional services to existing clients to increase revenue.
- Networking in new areas: attend regional industry events, conferences, and workshops to build connections and promote the firm’s services.
- Targeted client acquisition: focus on acquiring clients that offer long-term, high-value projects to enhance revenue stability.
- Responsible for knowing the market rates (e.g., fees) that can be charged to maximize value and ROI.
- Responsible for fee management, reviewing and checking proposals, including LOIs across sectors.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepares practice growth plan/business development plan annually. Market analysis, budget planning. Identifies future leaders within the practice.
Responsibility for the Direction of Others- Coordinate and collaborate with sector program managers.
- May serve in a dual client manager role requiring the direction of a design team.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Registration StatusRegistered Professional Engineer.
Typical Professional AttainmentsExpected to be a Member of Industry/Sector Networking Society and a Member of Technical Society.
