Sales Representative, Sales Associate/Assistant, Retail Sales
Job Summary
The primary responsibilities of the Sales Trainee are to learn the organization’s products, services, and policies and to develop the needed knowledge and sales skills to become an effective sales representative. The trainee will present and sell the company’s products to new account prospects as well as to established accounts, either in the showroom, at the account’s location, or at sales functions such as trade shows and sales markets.
The role may be performed independently or with the assistance of a more experienced sales representative. The trainee will also be involved with the company’s event team, attending special events and supporting sales efforts as needed, and will attend all company sales meetings to stay current on all aspects of sales business.
- Present to and service new and established accounts whenever possible, either independently or with the assistance of a more seasoned sales representative.
- Attend special events when asked and support all sales efforts at the event in any way possible.
- Acquire a complete understanding of (web‑based sales automation software), PowerBI, and all other sales reports.
- Enter customers’ stores and merchandising products, set‑up fixtures, and display all point‑of‑purchase (POS) material.
- Develop knowledge and skills of an effective sales representative by learning the organization’s products, services, and policies.
- Maintain knowledge of all current product lines.
- Be able to put together or “hang” the seasonal sample line.
- 2 years of related professional experience.
- Strong communication skills (oral, written, presentation).
- Strong organizational and process management skills.
