Role OverviewThe Business Development Lead is a key growth and transformation role responsible for driving and executing business development strategies to acquire target clients across the Retail industry. This is a hunting-focused sales role aimed at winning new clients and expanding market presence. The individual will leverage a broad portfolio of technology, consulting, and digital transformation services while collaborating with market development teams, solution specialists, and industry subject matter experts to generate demand and convert qualified opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Drive the end-to-end new logo acquisition process, from prospect identification and qualification through proposal, negotiation, and closure within the assigned territory.
- Achieve growth targets by originating deals, generating demand proactively, and applying consultative selling techniques to engage Retail prospects throughout their buying journey.
- Present solution value propositions through client meetings, industry events, conferences, and virtual presentations.
- Create new business opportunities and shape large, strategic deals within the Retail vertical.
- Develop a strong understanding of clients’ business challenges, industry trends, and competitive landscape in the Retail sector.
- Collaborate across internal teams and partner ecosystems to build innovation-led relationships with prospective clients.
- Deliver measurable business impact for clients through a comprehensive portfolio of services and solutions.
- Establish and nurture CXO-level relationships, creating market momentum and strengthening brand presence within targeted markets.
- 12–15+ years of overall sales and business development experience, with significant experience selling into the Retail industry.
- Proven track record of new logo acquisition, revenue growth, and large-deal origination.
- Experience working within a leading IT services, consulting, or digital transformation organization, with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
- Strong consultative selling, stakeholder management, and executive relationship-building skills.
- Direct experience working within Retail organizations is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior business and technology leaders and influence strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
