THE ROLEAs a Sales Development Representative, you are the front of the revenue engine. Your job is to open conversations with home service business owners and book qualified demos for our sales team. This is a high-activity, phone-first outbound role — consistent daily execution is what separates good from great here.
You will own the top of the funnel: reaching owners and decision-makers at Service Titan-using contractors, getting them genuinely interested in the revenue UpSmith can surface for them, and setting demos that convert. The qualified demo is your product.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Run consistent daily outbound — dials, emails, and follow‑ups — against a defined target list of home service business owners
- Book and qualify demos for the sales team; the completed qualified demo is your primary output and how success is measured
- Execute assigned sequences in Instantly and run your call activity through Dialpad
- Keep Hub Spot clean: log every touch, update contact and deal records, and maintain data hygiene without being asked
- Research and prioritize accounts — active Service Titan users, $3M+ in annual revenue — so your effort lands on the highest‑fit prospects
- Tell a clear, credible story about the revenue UpSmith surfaces, and handle objections with confidence
- Partner with sales, marketing, and ops to sharpen messaging, tighten lists, and clean up hand‑offs
- Hit and beat your weekly activity and demo targets — every week, not just your good weeks
- First 30 days: ramped on the product story, the ideal customer profile, and the toolkit; consistently hitting baseline activity targets.
- First 60 days: hitting daily dial and demo-booking targets reliably, with qualified demos converting downstream.
- First 90 days: fully productive and exceeding demo quota; contributing feedback that improves scripts, sequences, and targeting.
- 1+ years in outbound sales, an SDR/BDR seat, or another high-volume phone role OR a clear track record of hustle and coachability if you're newer to the seat
- Comfort living on the phone; you treat dials as the job, not a chore
- Discipline and consistency — you hit your numbers daily, driven by your own standards
- Clear, confident communication and quick thinking when you hit an objection
- Organized and CRM‑fluent; you keep your own pipeline clean
- Coachable, competitive, and genuinely driven to win
- Experience selling into home services, the trades, or SMB owner-operators
- Familiarity with Service Titan, Hub Spot, and AI tools
- SaaS or AI product sales background
