Cardinal Cove Energy Partners|Fort Worth, TX|In-Office
About Cardinal CoveCardinal Cove Energy Partners is a mineral and royalty acquisition firm headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. We buy directly from mineral and royalty owners, with a core focus in the Appalachian Basin and a growing footprint across other U.S. producing regions. We're an early-stage company building something from the ground up, which means the people who join now have a real hand in shaping how we grow.
Aboutthe Role
The phone is the front door of our business, and we're looking for a high-energy Acquisition Landman to own deals from first call to close.
We hand you contact information and a valuation. You call the mineral owner, earn their trust, and work them toward a deal at a price that works for both sides. From there you stay with it, gathering the details we need (how they came to own the minerals, the family history behind them, and anything else that shapes the deal) and driving the owner to a signed PSA.
You are the seller's single point of contact the entire way through.
This is a sales-driven land role in a fast-paced environment. Activity, hustle, and the ability to keep a deal alive translate directly into your paycheck. If you like talking to people all day, thrive on hitting numbers, and want to learn the mineral and royalty business from the ground up, this is a rare ground-floor seat.
What You'll Do- Make 100+ outbound calls per day to mineral and royalty owners from targeted, DNC-scrubbed lists
- Build rapport fast, earn the owner's trust, and move them toward a decision to sell
- Present offers and negotiate to a price within approved parameters
- Gather the ownership details that drive the deal: how the owner acquired the minerals, family and inheritance history, lease status, and anything else that affects value or title
- Own the deal end to end and serve as the seller's single point of contact from first call through close
- Drive the owner to a signed PSA and keep the deal moving to closing
- Think on your feet when a seller surfaces new information mid-conversation, and keep the deal on track
- Manage tough moments (a seller who gets annoyed or pushes for more) without losing the deal or the relationship
- Log every call, note, and next step accurately in Hub Spot
- Follow up persistently on warm leads until they close or clearly die
- High energy and high stamina, genuinely comfortable on the phone for most of the day
- Personable and persuasive, with real sales instincts and a thick skin for rejection
- A strong communicator who can read a situation and adjust in the moment
- Cool under pressure, able to defuse a frustrated seller and keep the deal alive
- Genuinely interested in land, oil and gas, and minerals (we train the technical side)
- Organized, self-directed, and coachable
- 0 to 3 years of experience. We care about drive, phone presence, and communication far more than a resume.
- Prior sales, inside sales, or call-center experience
- Land or oil and gas exposure, or an understanding of leasing and minerals
- Hub Spot or CRM familiarity
- Degree in petroleum land management, energy, business, or a related field
- AAPL membership or coursework
None of these are required. All of it is trainable.
Compensation- Competitive hourly base plus uncapped commission on closed deals
- The better you negotiate and the more you close, the more you make.
You'll learn the ins and outs of the oil, gas, and minerals business from two founders with over 30 years of combined experience. As you prove yourself, you earn bigger deals and more responsibility, with the opportunity to grow into leasing or potentially operations if the company grows in that direction. This is a ground-floor role at a firm that's still being built, and the people who perform will grow with it.
