Mission Hires is seeking a Business Development Lead to develop and execute go-to-market and sales strategies, build and expand client relationships, drive revenue and margin growth, and partner cross-functionally (finance, operations, legal, marketing, communications) to secure new business and ensure outstanding customer experiences within construction/design-build and related engineering markets.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute sales strategies for target and prospective clients
- Maintain a healthy sales funnel and deliver against revenue and margin quotas
- Partner with finance, operations, legal, marketing, and communications to structure, price, and deliver winning proposals and customer experiences
- Participate in customer meetings and lead/support contract negotiations
- Schedule and conduct discovery meetings to define program opportunities, success criteria, and deal qualification
- Build, maintain, and expand key relationships across relevant markets; understand client business problems and future needs
- Position solutions with consultative selling focused on ROI, operational outcomes, and long-term partnerships
- Attend networking and trade show events to source leads, represent a positive company image, and stay current on market issues
- Conduct research to identify strategic partnerships and new market opportunities
- Maintain accurate activity, pipeline, and forecast data using standard productivity tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; or equivalent education, training, and/or experience
- 5+ years of consultative sales experience, including experience in the construction industry
- Proven consultative selling skills with emphasis on ROI, operational outcomes, and long-term partnerships
- Working knowledge of engineering, architectural, or design-build industries
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues, gather information, and recommend solutions
- Financial and business acumen to evaluate opportunities and structure deals
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
