Job Description About the RoleWe're looking for a driven, resourceful Business Development (M&A) Associate / Manager to fuel growth in the hospitality space. This is a hands‑on, generalist role at the heart of our sourcing engine — you'll take full ownership of a geography, running outreach, keeping your pipeline clean, mapping the market, and partnering closely with Operations to identify and advance acquisition targets.
We're looking for someone with a true ownership mentality — someone who treats their market like their own business, knows it inside and out, and drives results without waiting to be told what's next. Prior M&A experience is a big plus. If you love variety, move fast, and want to make a visible impact on a growing business, you'll thrive here.
You'll work across outreach, marketing, events, and data, wearing multiple hats and partnering closely with Operations and key leadership on M&A sourcing. We're especially excited about candidates who bring an experimentation mindset — including using AI tools to work smarter and scale your impact.
What You'll Do:- Own your assigned geography end-to-end — build relationships, manage the local pipeline, and drive acquisition activity via multiple outreach channels.
- Run cold outreach across calls, email, and other channels to engage prospective sellers and partners, leading to more acquisition opportunities.
- Use AI tools (e.g., Claude) to scale and personalize outreach, improve response rates, and streamline prospecting.
- Support ad hoc sourcing projects and lead‑generation initiatives as priorities evolve.
- Partner closely with Operations to map target markets, identify potential sellers, and pinpoint acquisition opportunities within your geography.
- Research and track competitors, market trends, and growth opportunities across the hospitality landscape.
- Build deep market knowledge of your territory so you can spot and prioritize the best opportunities independently.
- Maintain CRM hygiene — accurate data entry, deduplication, pipeline updates, and clean record‑keeping.
- Build and manage contact lists, log outreach activity, and report on pipeline metrics.
- Create and help distribute marketing materials used for management meetings and initial outreach initiatives.
- Design, produce, and manage direct mailer campaigns from concept through distribution.
- Provide logistical and on‑the‑ground support for in‑person acquisition discussions, trade shows, and conferences — prep, materials, scheduling, and follow‑up.
- Take on ad hoc projects across the business development (M&A) function as needs arise.
- Ownership mentality — you treat your geography like your own book of business, take full accountability for results, and don't wait to be told what's next.
- Outreach experience — a proven, resilient approach to cold calling and cold outreach.
- CRM experience — hands‑on with platforms like Salesforce, Hub Spot, or other CRM tools (Deal Cloud preferred).
- AI‑savvy — experience using AI tools for outreach, prospecting, and productivity.
- Industry knowledge — an understanding of hospitality and/or property management.
- Strong communicator — clear, persuasive written and verbal communication.
- Organized & detail‑oriented — you keep data clean and projects on track.
- Team player — comfortable working with senior operators and regional leadership on acquisition strategy, training, and support.
- Self‑starter — comfortable with shifting priorities, ambiguity, and wearing many hats.
- Education — college degree preferred but not required.
- M&A experience — prior experience in M&A, PE-backed platforms, deal sourcing, or transaction‑related work.
- Strong financial acumen — ability to talk about M&A transactions/valuation.
- Experience working with a multi‑unit, multi‑location platform.
- Experience with public speaking — conferences, podcasts, industry events, etc.
- Current or recent experience in the hospitality sector.
- A track record of using data and creative outreach to open doors and create opportunities.
