Sales Development Rep/SDR, Inside Sales
Business Development Representative, Hazel AI
San Francisco, CA
Hazel needs a Business Development Representative who can consistently generate and qualify pipeline in the hundreds of thousands of dollars per month. You'll own top-of-funnel execution – responding quickly to inbound interest and running targeted outbound to our ICP while partnering closely with AEs to convert interest into high-quality meetings and sales-qualified opportunities. This is a foundational hire with direct impact on Hazel's growth trajectory and go-to-market playbook.
What you'll do:
- Generate pipeline by running a balanced motion across inbound follow-up and outbound prospecting
- Qualify and route leads: run first-touch discovery, assess fit, and schedule next steps with AEs.
- Execute targeted outbound plays (email, phone, Linked In) to reach key decision-makers in ICP accounts.
- Create a great buyer experience: thoughtful follow-ups, clear next steps, and fast response times – especially on inbound.
- Operate with rigor: maintain clean CRM data, track activity, and improve conversion through feedback loops with Product, Sales and Marketing.
- Iterate your craft: test messaging, sequences, and channels; bring learnings back to the team to improve playbooks.
- Learn the Wealth management AI landscape and translate Hazel.ai's value into business outcomes for different personas (operators, leaders, technical stakeholders).
- Leverage AI to research accounts and craft high-signal, personalized outreach at scale – continuously testing messaging and sequences to improve reply rates, meetings set, and qualified pipeline conversion.
What you'll bring:
- 1+ years in a BDR role or a high-cadence customer-facing role.
- Strong written + verbal communication; comfortable with discovery and objection handling.
- High ownership and pace: you prioritize well, follow through, are organized and thrive in ambiguity.
- Data-informed mindset: you track what's working, diagnose drop-offs, and adjust.
- Familiarity with CRM and sales tooling (e.g., Salesforce/Hub Spot + sales engagement tools).
Bonus points:
- Experience selling into a defined ICP (SMB/MM/Enterprise) and partnering closely with AEs on account strategy.
- Comfort using intent signals and AI tools to personalize outreach and improve conversion.
Compensation:
This role has a target OTE of $105,000, combining base salary and variable incentive compensation. Final compensation is individualized and based on experience and qualifications. Equity and benefits are included for full-time employees.
What we bring:
- Stunning, amenity-filled office spaces in Culver City, CA, San Francisco, CA, and Dallas, TX. Our offices are intentionally designed for comfort, collaboration, and productivity.
- Competitive pay and equity for eligible positions.
- Premium healthcare, dental, and vision insurance plans (HMO and PPO).
- 401k savings plan with a 4% match and immediate vesting.
- 16 week paid parental leave after one year of employment.
- Professional growth and development opportunities including an employee mobility program and an annual L&D budget allocation for each employee.
- Company perks program (includes discounts on pet insurance, fitness, cell phone plans, and travel, etc.).
- Financial guidance program (includes counseling on navigating debt, tracking personal spend, saving and planning goals, home-purchasing preparedness, etc.).
- One month work from anywhere policy (with the exception of a few countries).
Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package, along with equity in the form of Stock Options (ISOs) for eligible roles. For salaried positions, a salary offer will be determined by a number of factors including experience, skill level, internal pay equity, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
