Job Summary

The Inside Sales Trainee position is designed to provide individuals with the training and experience needed to develop into a successful Inside Sales Representative. This full‑time role includes structured, hands‑on training and day‑to‑day involvement in sales activities. The trainee will learn to manage customer accounts, process quotes and orders, provide product support, and build a solid foundation in sales practices within the metals industry.

Upon successful completion of the training period, the trainee may transition into an Inside Sales Representative role.

Eligible Inside Sales Representatives participate in a quarterly Sales Incentive Program designed to reward performance in alignment with company goals. Incentives are based on individual gross profit billed, as well as a pooled bonus distributed based on team performance and sales management‑defined programs.

  • Participate in a structured training program to learn inside sales systems, processes, and customer service practices.
  • Shadow experienced Inside Sales Representatives to learn how to manage customer accounts, address inquiries, and provide solutions.
  • Assist with processing customer quotes and orders, ensuring accuracy and timely communication.
  • Support order entry, pricing reviews, product availability checks, and certification coordination.
  • Learn to resolve customer complaints and discrepancies in collaboration with senior team members.
  • Attend department meetings and training sessions to develop knowledge of company products, services, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to sales activities.
  • Contribute to team goals by supporting sales outreach, order follow-up, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols, procedures, and ethical standards.
Qualifications
  • 0–2 years of professional experience, preferably in a sales, service, or office environment.
  • High School diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interest in developing a career in sales.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn sales systems.
  • Effective time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment with multiple priorities.
  • Customer‑focused with a professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in basic math functions.

Travel Requirements Up to 10% travel may be required.
