What you will do

Join Maxwell at a defining moment, where a legendary supercapacitor technology brand is being re-energized inside Clarios to power the next wave of data center, AI, grid, and energy innovation. This is not just another role; it is a chance to help build a high-growth business with the speed of a focused team and the strength of a global energy storage leader behind it.

At Maxwell, your work can directly influence how critical infrastructure becomes faster, more resilient, and more sustainable. We are looking for builders, challengers, and customer-focused leaders who want to shape a market, grow with the business, and leave a visible mark on the future of energy. The Sr Sales Director, based in Texas, will lead commercial growth for Maxwell supercapacitor solutions, with a primary focus on building strategic relationships with hyperscalers and driving Maxwell brand pull-through across system integrators (SIs).

This role owns global commercial execution, including pipeline development, deal closure, account expansion, and cross-functional coordination to deliver profitable growth.

How you will do it

Develop and execute Maxwell's go-to-market strategy across priority segments, including AI data centers, grid infrastructure, industrial, and emerging applications. Build and manage executive-level relationships with our customers including AIDC (system integrators, hyperscalers, power system OEM’s, compute platforms, etc), grid, automotive, and wind/industrial end markets. Own the customer relationship as a representative of Maxwell. Work closely with engineering and product planning to influence ecosystem players to design-in and deploy Maxwell supercapacitor solutions.

Lead the full commercial cycle: account mapping, opportunity qualification, pricing strategy, negotiation, contracting, and closure. Identify and develop new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and ecosystem relationships that accelerate growth. Own global sales targets: bookings, revenue, margin, and forecast accuracy. Coordinate with product, engineering, operations, legal, and marketing teams to ensure successful customer execution and on-time delivery. Strengthen Maxwell market positioning through customer engagement, thought leadership, events, and partner co-marketing activities.

Monitor market trends, competitive movements, and customer needs to shape strategy and improve win rates. Ensure disciplined CRM usage, weekly forecast reporting, and robust account plans for strategic customers. Develop strategic partnerships with power infrastructure providers, UPS manufacturers, system integrators, and technology partners to accelerate market adoption. Build, coach, and scale a high-performance commercial organization as the business grows.

What we look for
  • Required Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA is a plus.
  • 10+ years of B2B sales/business development experience in energy storage, power electronics, data center infrastructure, or related technology sectors.
  • Proven success managing large strategic accounts, including hyperscalers and/or major OEMs/SIs.
  • Strong understanding of backup power solutions in mission-critical systems, supercapacitor experience will be preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence complex ecosystems and drive partner-led commercial execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and scale new business opportunities in emerging markets and technologies.
  • Strong commercial acumen in pricing, contracts, and multi-stakeholder negotiations.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed across the US and globally to support customers.
  • Preferred Experience:

Experience with design-in to commercialization sales cycles and technical value selling.
  • Familiarity with power reliability applications such as UPS ride-through, peak power support, and backup systems.
  • The location will be our new HQ for this business. The Dallas region is a strong consideration.
