Job Description & How to Apply Below

WE'RE HIRING: SALES DIRECTOR

Company:
Skill Venture

Role:
Sales Director

Department:
Sales

Type:
Full-Time

Skill Venture is looking for a high-performance Sales Director to lead, coach, and grow our sales team.

We already have talented closers.

Now we need the person who can turn them into a high-performing sales machine.

This is not a role for someone who only knows how to manage meetings, review spreadsheets, and ask salespeople why they missed their numbers.

We need a player-coach who understands high-ticket sales, knows how to develop closers, can diagnose why deals are being lost, and knows what to do about it.

Your Mission

Help our closers hit and exceed their revenue targets consistently.

You will be responsible for the performance of the sales team, not just managing them.

What You Will Do 1. Coach Our Closers Weekly

You will run weekly sales coaching and training sessions.

You will review real sales calls and identify:

  • What the closer did well
  • Where the prospect was lost
  • Questions the closer should have asked
  • Objections that were handled poorly
  • Opportunities the closer missed
  • How the conversation could have been closed differently

The goal is continuous improvement.

2. Manage Individual Performance

Every closer should know their numbers.

You will monitor:

  • Calls booked
  • Calls attended
  • Show rate
  • Close rate Revenue generated
  • Cash collected
  • Financing approvals
  • Follow-up conversions
  • No-shows
  • Lost deals
  • Reasons deals are being lost

You should be able to look at the numbers and quickly identify where a closer needs help.

3. Help Every Closer Hit Their Target

You will work directly with each closer to create a clear plan for hitting their monthly target.

If someone is behind target, we don't want to wait until the end of the month to discover it.

You should identify the problem early and coach them through it.

4. Review Sales Calls

You must be comfortable listening to sales calls.

You should be able to identify problems with:

  • Discovery
  • Qualification
  • Rapport
  • Pain identification
  • Value creation
  • Offer presentation
  • Objection handling
  • Closing
  • Follow-up

Then turn those findings into practical coaching.

5. Build a Winning Sales Culture

We want a team that is competitive, accountable, coachable, ethical, and obsessed with getting better.

You will set the standard.

High performers should be recognized.

Struggling closers should be coached.

Consistently poor performance should be addressed quickly.

6. Hire More Closers When Needed

As Skill Venture grows, you will be responsible for helping us recruit and build the next generation of closers.

You should know how to:

  • Find great salespeople
  • Interview them
  • Test their selling ability
  • Run roleplays
  • Identify real closers from good talkers
  • Onboard new hires
  • Train them
  • Get them productive quickly
7. Own Sales Forecasting

Leadership should never have to guess what sales will look like.

You will provide clear forecasts based on:

  • Leads → Booked Calls → Shows → Closes → Cash Collected

You should know what needs to happen today for us to hit our target at the end of the month.

Who We're Looking For
  • You have managed high-ticket sales teams before.
  • You have personally sold high-ticket products or services.
  • You have coached closers and improved their performance.
  • You understand consultative selling.
  • You understand objection handling.
  • You know how to inspect sales calls and diagnose problems.
  • You are highly numbers-driven.
  • You know how to hold people accountable without destroying morale.
  • You are comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
  • You can recruit and develop strong salespeople.
  • You take ownership of outcomes.
  • Experience selling education, coaching, career services, professional services, SaaS, or other high-ticket offers is a major advantage.
This Role Is NOT For You If...
  • You only want to manage people.
  • You avoid difficult conversations.
  • You blame marketing every time sales numbers fall.
  • You cannot coach from real call recordings.
  • You don't understand sales metrics.
  • You've never developed salespeople.
  • You need someone constantly telling you what to do.
  • We're looking for someone who sees a revenue problem and immediately starts figuring out how to solve it.
What Success Looks Like
  • Better closer performance
  • Higher and more consistent close rates
  • Stronger objection handling
  • Better call quality
  • Clear individual targets
  • Better sales forecasting
  • Strong accountability across the team
  • A repeatable closer training system
  • A clear process for recruiting and onboarding additional closers
