DescriptionThe Production Sanitation Personnel is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within production areas to support food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures that waste is properly managed and removed from production rooms in a timely and hygienic manner to prevent contamination risks.
Key Responsibilities- Remove trash and waste from production areas at scheduled intervals and as needed.
- Transport waste to designated disposal areas following sanitation and safety procedures.
- Ensure trash containers are clean, properly lined, and in good condition.
- Maintain cleanliness of production rooms, including floors and surrounding work areas.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety guidelines at all times.
- Prevent cross-contamination by using proper handling and sanitation techniques.
- Report any sanitation, pest, or contamination concerns to QA or management immediately.
- Support Audit readiness by maintaining sanitation standards at all time.
- Assist with general sanitation tasks as assigned by QA or production leadership.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SQF/FDA standards, OSHA and company safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operations.
- Basic understanding of sanitation practices in a food production environment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Knowledge of GMPs and food safety principles (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Reliability and strong work ethic
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry trash bags and containers (up to 50 lbs)
- Ability working in cold, wet, or humid environments (e.g., refrigerated or production areas)
- Able to operate a manual and electric pallet jack.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed
- Must follow all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements
- Must adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and safety policies
