We are currently seeking a Staff Geologist to work full-time in our Dallas, Texas office. This is an excellent opportunity to join and grow EnSafe, getting involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients across the globe.
As a Staff Geologist, you will work alongside experienced geologists, engineers, and environmental scientists on a wide range of environmental consulting projects. This position offers hands‑on experience in environmental investigation, environmental due diligence, site characterization, remediation, and compliance projects while providing opportunities for professional growth and development. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES In this role, you will:- Perform environmental field investigations involving soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil vapor, and other media using approved sampling methods.
- Support environmental site assessments, subsurface investigations, and site characterization activities.
- Assist with soil logging, monitoring well installation oversight, groundwater gauging and sampling, and collection of environmental data.
- Conduct field observations during remediation, construction, and environmental monitoring activities.
- Support the operation, maintenance, and performance monitoring of remedial systems and pilot studies.
- Maintain detailed and accurate field notes, boring logs, sampling records, and chain‑of‑custody documentation.
- Interpret environmental and geological data to support project evaluations and technical recommendations.
- Manage, organize, and summarize environmental datasets for project reporting and analysis.
- Assist with the preparation of technical reports, work plans, regulatory submittals, and project correspondence.
- Prepare maps, figures, and exhibits using GIS, database, and other technical software.
- Collaborate with project teams to support environmental compliance, permitting, and remediation projects.
- Demonstrate safe work practices and maintain compliance with health and safety requirements in both field and office environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, Earth Sciences, Geological Engineering, or a related environmental discipline.
- 0-2 years of relevant environmental consulting, geology, hydrogeology, or field investigation experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, organization, and time‑management abilities.
- Ability to work independently under guidance from senior staff and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong work ethic, initiative, adaptability, and willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with environmental sampling techniques, field documentation, and environmental data interpretation.
- Basic understanding of geology, hydrogeology, groundwater systems, and contaminant transport principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technical data management.
- Ability to meet physical job requirements, including:
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Traversing uneven or rugged terrain.
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Performing moderate physical activity for extended periods.
- Ability to travel for field assignments, including occasional overnight stays.
- Master's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience with GIS software, environmental databases, or groundwater modeling tools.
