Job Overview

Security Guard at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum is responsible for ensuring the safety of visitors, staff, exhibits, and property. The role includes monitoring CCTV, patrolling museum premises, responding to incidents, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and operate CCTV surveillance systems.
  • Patrol assigned areas to maintain museum security.
  • Enforce museum policies and procedures.
  • Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
  • Conduct visitor screenings and manage access control.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate incident reports.
  • Utilize computer technology to document incidents and communicate with the team.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency response teams.
  • Provide excellent customer service to museum guests.
  • Ensure compliance with all security and safety policies.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Level 2 TOPS Certification (required before starting work).
  • Strong working knowledge of computer technology, including security software and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with CCTV monitoring and security systems.
  • Prior experience in museum, corporate, or public safety security (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential security threats.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in high‑pressure situations.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Quick response to emergencies and navigation of stairs or obstacles.
