Description
Christ For The Nations is seeking a skilled and hard-working Security Sergeant to supervise and coordinate daily security operations across its 82-acre campus. This position is responsible for conducting regular patrols of campus buildings and grounds to ensure the safety and security of all individuals and property. The Security Sergeant enforces CFN policies and procedures while providing leadership, guidance, and support to security personnel.
The role responds to incidents and emergencies, ensuring appropriate action is taken and accurate reports are completed. Additionally, the Security Sergeant oversees radio and dispatch operations, maintaining effective communication among security staff and relevant departments. This position also utilizes computer software and security systems to monitor activity, document incidents, and support the daily operations of the Security Department.
- Ability to assess and control potentially explosive and rapidly developing situations
- Ability to effectively communicate with people of various cultures and backgrounds
- Ability to remain calm and controlled while simultaneously handling visitors, telephone calls, and radio traffic required
- Be able to prioritize multiple and conflicting tasks
- Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
- High school graduation required
- Able and willing to work any shift, including overnight, as necessary
- Physically fit; able to stand, sit, walk, stoop, run, climb, lift, and crouch as needed to accomplish security missions
- Good vision: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license
- Able to work outdoors under weather conditions normal to Northern Texas
- Be a person of high moral character and integrity who portrays an image of confidence and respect at all times
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Enforce policies and procedures to provide for the physical safety and security of all CFN students, staff, residents, and guests
- Enforce policies and procedures to provide for the physical security of all CFN property, including buildings, equipment, and vehicles
- Assist in enforcing CFN policies and rules related to the security of personnel and property
- Supervise all activities and resources of the CFN Security Department for a specified period
- Accomplish, document, and report routine patrols and observations of grounds, buildings, and persons to assess security status
- Stay in communication with all on-duty Security officers via two-way radios
- Maintain proper order, discipline, and image of the CFN Security Department
- Assess all security-related situations and circumstances occurring during his shift to determine appropriate Security response and tactically employ resources in response
- Monitor and enforce campus speed and parking rules and regulations, citing violators as appropriate
- Determine the need for contacting Dallas Police Department and/or Dallas Fire Department and help coordinate activities and communication between both agencies and CFN
- Document and report incidents, accidents, and other situations as requested or as deemed necessary in compliance with existing CFN policies and procedures
- Assist in training and development of security officers
- Coordinate communication outside normal business hours between visitors and residents with other CFN departments and personnel as needed
- Serve as the initial point of contact for CFN staff, visitors, students, and residents for any and all activities, requests, and situations called into Security
- Respond to all building alarm conditions, assessing or correcting conditions as necessary
