Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated Police Officer to join our Safety, Security & Law Enforcement department. In this role, you will provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff across our Texas hospitals and clinics. Responsibilities include patrolling facilities, responding to emergencies, enforcing laws and hospital policies, conducting investigations, and collaborating with clinical teams. The ideal candidate demonstrates integrity, compassion, and accountability, and excels in a collaborative, inclusive setting.
Prior law enforcement experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to community-focused service are essential.
Responsibilities
- Patrol hospital buildings, grounds, and parking areas
- Respond rapidly to emergencies, alarms, and distress calls
- Enforce state laws and hospital policies to maintain safety
- Investigate incidents, write detailed reports, and preserve evidence
- Assist clinical staff with security-related patient situations
- De-escalate volatile situations using crisis-intervention techniques
- Monitor access control systems and CCTV surveillance
- Provide escorts for patients, visitors, and staff as needed
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services
- Participate in safety drills, training, and continuous readiness
