Network Technicians – Fiber Optic, Structured Cabling, Data Centers

  • Contract-to-Hire
  • Shift: Monday-Saturday, 6am-4:30pm
  • Must be based in Dallas/Fort Worth; will commute from home to project location
  • MUST have reliable transportation
  • Multiple Openings!
Summary

The Network Technicians work on the installations, alterations, additions, and/or repairs of structured cabling systems in low voltage, associated materials and equipment on various projects.

  • Perform overhead and underground layout and rough-in.
  • Terminate all types of copper cable including coaxial, multi-pair and Category 3 through 6.
  • Measure, cut, bend, assemble, and install cable tray using measuring devices and hand tools.
  • Assemble and install relay racks, network cabinets, wall fields, and components.
  • Perform fiber optic cable & structured cabling installations and terminations following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints.
  • Correctly set up and operate copper and fiber optic testing equipment.
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of related Network, Cable Technician experience
  • Requires at least OSHA 10 training; OSHA 30 preferred
  • Data center experience is preferred
  • Able to read and understand blueprints and specification sheets
  • Knows and understands standards for installation of structured cabling and network backbone
  • General knowledge of fiber optic cabling and installation
  • Experience with installation of multi-tier cable tray systems
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with copper systems
  • Able to build out IDF cabinets and closets
  • Understanding of grounding/bonding requirements
  • Strong communication and leadership skills (for Level III Tech)
