Alamon, Inc. seeks a Telecommunication Technician Level 3 for its Network Services department.
This position entails working in Central Offices, MSO and/or Data Centers and installing equipment including Adtran, Cisco, Ciena (Ethernet and/or DWDM), Infinera, Fujitsu, Calix, Nokia, Galaxy 4848, Galaxy Millennium Controllers, Vertiv Power Systems, Eltek Power Systems, and Wet/VRLA Battery replacements. The Level 3 Technician must have Lumen, installation and testing experience. Must be a self‑starter and possess a safety‑oriented mindset. This job requires extensive travel.
Responsibilities- Telecommunication Technician Level 3 will act as a lead and experience in such a role is required.
- Must be able to work on the road for extended periods of time.
- Understand Central Office installation and Quality Standards contained in Telcordia GR-1275, Lumen 77350 / 77385, ATT TP-76300 / TP-76400 and/or Verizon IP72202 ISS 5-1 Core Standards.
- Read and interpret floor plans, rack drawings, and customer‑provided work orders.
- Have the skills and ability to plan and coordinate high‑risk activities including identifying equipment, cards, pluggable, fiber cables, and circuit IDs, and map out and run new fibers for integration, fiber rolls, and hot cuts.
- Extensive understanding of hand tools, test equipment, and ability to use a computer to interface with customer products.
- Safely handle and operate power tools including bandsaws, rotary tools, cable cutters, hammer drills, and hydraulic crimpers.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining assigned tool inventories.
- Perform daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA)/weekly Toolbox Talk with team and document.
- Assist in the training and development of Level 1, 2 & 3 technicians assigned to team.
- Thorough understanding of, and adherence to company safety policies and incident reporting procedures.
- Install relay racking, cable racking, fiber ducting, auxiliary framing, and other superstructure elements.
- Install and sew copper and fiber cables utilizing an array of connector types (RJ45, wire wrapping, BNC, LC/SC, etc.).
- Proficient understanding and experience in lacing/stitching/sewing central office wire.
- Install DC power rectification, batteries, fuse panels, and BDFB/BDCBB.
- Work effectively with customer supervisors, engineers, and technicians.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
- Communicate effectively, including proficiency in written and verbal communications, with strong listening skills.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Must pass the pre‑employment screening process which includes a background check, drug test and motor vehicle records pull.
- Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors, in a physically demanding work environment and all‑weather conditions, lifting or moving up to 50 lbs., and hiking over various terrain.
- Possess a current and valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no DUI / DWIs within the past 5 years.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.
- Be available to work nights and weekends as required by project demands.
- The Telecommunication Technician Level 3 position requires visiting Alamon customer site facilities nationwide, travel is required.
