Job Description

Are you an experienced Fiber Optic Technician who takes pride in precision terminations and clean infrastructure builds? Do you thrive in commercial and data center environments where quality and performance matter?

Flex Tech is seeking skilled Fiber Optic Technicians to support commercial construction, retrofit, and data center projects throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex
.

This role offers consistent work, competitive pay, and opportunities to advance into lead fiber or data center technician roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, pull, and route fiber optic cabling (OSP & ISP)
  • Perform fiber optic terminations including:
    • Fusion splicing
    • Mechanical splicing
    • Ribbon splicing (preferred)
  • Terminate fiber into patch panels, enclosures, and network hardware
  • Perform testing using:
    • OTDR
    • Power meter & light source
    • Fiber certification equipment
  • Label, document, and maintain accurate test records
  • Install and manage fiber cable trays and pathway systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and fiber schematics
  • Work safely in commercial buildings and data center environments
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safety-focused jobsites
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2+ years of fiber optic installation experience
  • Experience with fusion splicing and fiber testing
  • Familiarity with both single-mode and multi-mode fiber
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Willingness to work days, nights, and weekends as required
  • Ability to work in tight or confined spaces
  • Ability to lift materials and climb ladders
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation to DFW-area jobsites
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in data center fiber deployments
  • Experience with high-count fiber (144ct, 288ct, 864ct+)
  • Experience with 6912-count fiber projects (highly preferred)
  • BICSI or manufacturer certifications
  • Experience leading small crews
