Job Responsibilities
- Perform Fusions splicing and mechanical splicing on single mode and multi-mode FO Cables
- Experience with ribbon fiber and high-volume splicing
- Experience with the handling and dress of large fiber count cables into cabinets, MDF locations
- Understanding of various splice cases and vaults
- Ability to interpret splicing plans, OTDR traces, and fiber characterization data
- Understanding of link loss principles
- Locate and repair cable faults to sustain existing cable network without causing signal disruptions
- Operate and maintain fusions splicing equipment from major OEMs (e.g., Fujikura, Fitel, Corning)
- Organize and manage splicing files and documentation via software systems
- Ability to conduct JHA, safe housekeeping, and clean site awareness
- Valid Driver’s license
- Ability to demonstrate you are authorized to work in the US
- Clear background check and drug screening is a must
- At least 5 years of experience in fiber optic splicing.
- HS or GED
- Any technical or higher educations preferred
- Experience using equipment such as fusion splicers, OTDRs, and power meters
- FO certifications, fusion splice, OTDR, connectors ect.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work overtime and travel if needed
- OSHA 10
- CPR
- Track record of completing work with a high level of quality
- Knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands‑on approach to your work
- Looking for long‑term projects
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders or utility structures
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, aerial locations, and outdoor environments in all weather conditions
- Must have full use of hands, arms, and fingers to handle small components, cables, and splicing tools
- Visual acuity sufficient to read fiber labels, color codes, diagrams, and OTDR traces
- Ability to sit or kneel for extended periods while performing precision splicing tasks
- Capable of driving long distances or traveling for job site access
- Able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended durations (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel‑toed boots, harnesses) when working on site
- Must have the physical stamina to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and on‑call shifts if needed
