Service Technician, Tier II - US Truck Parts Dallas, TX; FWY

In the Tier 2 position, technicians should have mastered the skills trained for Tier 3. A Tier 2 technician gains additional on‑line and approved off‑site training and must have at least two years of on‑the‑job experience before being considered for advancement.

• Complete the online training modules for Mack & Volvo in dual‑branded locations, or in single‑branded locations; training may also be obtained via Cummins, Medium Duty, or Allison programs.
• Actively pursue approved off‑site training prerequisites or attend off‑site training toward certification in the agreed training path.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of systems such as air, fuel, and after‑treatment systems.

• Perform timely repairs with a minimum of 85% efficiency and 80% proficiency.
• Execute quality repairs with minimal rework.
• Diagnose and repair moderately difficult issues; may struggle with more complex situations.
• Diagnose and repair basic electronic, lighting, and electrical systems.
• Require minimal supervision.
• Be a forward‑thinking, creative individual with high ethical standards and a professional image.
• Maintain a can‑do attitude and serve as a “go‑to” engineer in at least two repair areas.
• Display a firm understanding of the company’s mission and the big picture.

• Complete all Tier 3 job role requirements.
• Finish a minimum of two items from the list below.
• Earn at least three certifications in the ASE “Medium/Heavy Duty Truck” certification program.
• Master certify in at least one Mack or Volvo Pro‑Path segment.
• Hold D.O.T. inspection certification.
• Hold certification on at least one Cummins engine platform.
• Hold a Medium‑Duty (Hino, Mitsubishi, or Isuzu) certification.
• Hold at least one Allison Transmission certification.
• Maintain a valid commercial driver’s license.

• Must maneuver around, in, on, and under trucks for inspection and repair tasks.
• Must pass physical and drug/alcohol screens during pre‑employment, randomly, or as requested.
• Must lift 50 pounds to the waist and 25 pounds to the shoulder.

The working environment includes stress from urgent repairs and requires the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Regular, predictable attendance is required.
