Job Title:

Maintenance Technician II – Mechanical & Robotics Job Description

This role supports the Operations Maintenance team by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution equipment within a high-volume facility. The Maintenance Technician II ensures that all mechanical and robotic systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair material handling equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and pneumatic system issues to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to reduce unplanned downtime and extend asset life.
  • Use appropriate tools, test equipment, and diagnostic techniques to perform repairs and adjustments on mechanical and robotic components.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support maintenance planning and compliance.
  • Collaborate with operations and other maintenance team members to prioritize work, support production needs, and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Follow established safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices while working on equipment and systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
Essential Skills
  • Hands‑on experience maintaining and repairing material handling equipment.
  • Proficiency working with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical documentation and equipment manuals.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
  • Capability to troubleshoot equipment issues methodically and implement reliable solutions.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and maintenance best practices in an operations environment.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working in an automated or robotics‑driven operations or distribution environment.
  • Familiarity with material handling and automation technologies used in high-volume facilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative maintenance team.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with operations and maintenance colleagues.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple maintenance tasks and priorities.

Environment

The role is based in a large, fast‑paced operations facility that uses automated packaging, distribution equipment, and material handling systems. You will work around active machinery, conveyors, and pneumatic systems, frequently moving through the building to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs. The position requires working with standard industrial tools and diagnostic equipment while following all safety and lockout/tagout procedures. Work hours may align with operational needs and can include shifts, weekends, or extended hours during peak periods.

Appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety in the facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is  32.50 -  32.50/hr.
