Overview

A leading contractor in energy and industrial projects is looking for an Electrical Superintendent. This person should have strong experience with gas power plants. The job is located in Dallas and there are multiple locations.

Job Summary

The Electrical Superintendent will manage electrical work on site. They will make sure that the work is done safely, on time, and within the budget. They will also oversee workers, subcontractors, and materials. This role needs a good understanding of electrical systems used in gas power plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise all electrical work at the project site, focusing on gas power plant systems.
  • Make sure all work follows project requirements, safety rules, and electrical codes.
  • Work with project managers, engineers, and other leaders to plan electrical work.
  • Manage electrical crews and subcontractors to ensure they are productive and perform well.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and start-up of electrical systems like switch gear, transformers, grounding, and control systems.
  • Monitor the project’s progress, find any problems, and take action to keep everything on schedule and budget.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all electrical work meets safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and company rules).
  • Provide daily updates and keep records of work done.
  • Train and develop electrical foremen and workers to create a skilled team.
Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of experience in electrical construction, with 3 years in a leadership role as a Superintendent.
  • Experience working on gas power plant projects (combined-cycle experience is preferred).
  • Good knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and power systems.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents.
  • Good organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling and reporting tools.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
