DESCRIPTION
The Senior Telecommunications Decommissioning Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the shutdown and removal of outdated or unused telecommunication equipment and systems. This dynamic role involves planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating decommissioning activities within central office locations. You will be a vital part of a team that travels regularly to manage these important projects. ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Conduct thorough site surveys and assessments to accurately determine project scope and requirements.
- Develop and implement detailed decommissioning plans, procedures, and schedules that align with company policies and industry standards.
- Effectively coordinate and communicate with both internal teams and external partners, including technicians, engineers, contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
- Monitor and control project progress, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness, while proactively resolving any issues that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and legal regulations throughout the decommissioning process.
- Manage the inventory, disposal, and recycling of decommissioned equipment, while maintaining accurate documentation and reporting.
- Evaluate and document project outcomes, providing insightful feedback and recommendations for future enhancements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and effective time management capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear understanding of instructions, safety regulations, and record maintenance.
- Professional interaction with customers is essential.
- Familiarity with company products and services, as well as customer policies.
- Experience in project and team management/leadership.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, engaging effectively with associates and contractors.
- Demonstrated skills in effective planning, priority setting, and multitasking under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Capacity to adapt to changing situations and learn rapidly to solve new problems creatively.
- Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience is required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Regular travel is required.
