Position: Concrete Repair Laborer (T2)

Performs basic labor tasks of a Tech 1 but with minimal supervision. In addition performs higher‑level tasks such as mixing repair mortars and chemical grouts, cement finishing, forming and rebar placement with supervision. Demonstrates how to properly perform a known task or skill to co‑workers.

Operates hand‑held air, electric and hydraulic powered and non‑powered tools such as required for a Tech 1, with minimal supervision. Operates more complex equipment (swing scaffolds, epoxy pumps, air compressors, etc.) with supervision.

Mixes cement, sand, and water to produce concrete, grout, or slurry, using hoe, trowel, tamper, scraper, or concrete‑mixing machine. Builds wooden forms, clamps forms around area to be repaired using hand tools. Positions forms for pouring concrete, and dismantles forms after use using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts. Places, consolidates, and protects concrete or masonry structures. Wets surface to prepare for bonding.

Fills holes and cracks with grout or slurry. Spreads, levels and smoothes concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float. Cleans, coats, seals, waterproofs or restores concrete surfaces, using appropriate compounds. Chips, scrapes, grinds, sands, or polishes spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools. Installs anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete or pattern or stamps the surface to provide a decorative finish.

Molds expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge. Erects and disassembles scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic, barricades, ramps and other temporary structures.

Performs routine maintenance and cleaning to vehicles and equipment such as engine oil filter change, cleaning of mortar mixers and shovels, installs plug ends on power cords, etc. Lubricates, cleans and repairs machinery, equipment and tools.
