Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Battery Foreman to lead installation crews in delivering high-quality solar and battery energy systems. This role includes all the responsibilities of a Foreman, with the added expertise of MPU battery systems. The Battery Foreman will oversee job site operations, mentor crew members, and perform both solar and battery installations as needed—ensuring compliance with design, safety, and code requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a crew in the installation of solar and MPU battery backup systems (including Enphase, Tesla, and other energy storage solutions).
  • Complete battery system wiring, mounting, commissioning, and monitoring device setup.
  • Perform critical battery‑specific tasks such as gateway/panel wiring, MPU (Main Panel Upgrade) work, and energy storage system integration.
  • Install conduit and wiring in compliance with NEC and local electrical codes.
  • Organize, train, and support crew members to complete projects within safety, quality, and time standards.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, CAD drawings, and installation specifications.
  • Collaborate with site inspectors and utility representatives as needed for inspections and interconnections.
  • Troubleshoot inverters, batteries, and communication devices (Envoy, IQ Gateway, etc.) to resolve issues on‑site.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure team adherence to OSHA and company standards.
  • Work closely with operations leadership to continuously improve field processes and outcomes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical/trade school training in solar, battery, or electrical systems preferred.

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years of residential solar installation experience.
  • Must be a licensed journeyman.
  • Proven experience with battery storage systems and Main Panel Upgrades (MPU).
  • Familiar with Enphase, Tesla, and other residential battery systems.
  • Proficient in electrical panel upgrades including conduit bending, subpanels, derating, and wire routing.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage installation teams.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and field troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable working on rooftops and performing physical labor outdoors.
  • Able to handle tools, ladders, inverters, solar panels, batteries, and related equipment safely.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC code and local jurisdiction requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in extreme environments (hot, humid, rain, etc.).
  • Ability to work safely with equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses, and PPE.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to withstand heights, climb ladders, and access roofs daily.
  • Ability to lift 50–75+ lbs. regularly.
  • Availability for 8–10 hour shifts and flexible hours when needed.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing required.
