Lead Field Technician/Mechanic (Dallas, TX) - Austin Equipment Yard

Austin Equipment Yard has an outstanding opportunity for a Lead Field Technician/Mechanic for heavy civil projects in the North Texas area. The technician is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing various types of heavy construction equipment.
Responsibilities- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates smoothly
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic equipment or hands‑on tests
- Repair or replace broken parts, such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
- Maintain detailed service records for each piece of equipment for warranty, compliance, and tracking purposes
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- 3+ years of service and repair experience with heavy construction equipment
- Maintenance and preventive maintenance skills
- Maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting abilities
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong commitment to jobsite safety
- High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Must work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be able to work hours adjusted to meet project needs, including days, nights, and weekends
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship offered
