Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer
Responsibilities
- Performs routine preventive and corrective maintenance and basic adjustments on pre‑conditioned air (PCA) units.
- Conducts daily and periodic shift inspections, cleaning, and diagnostics of PCA mechanical/electrical system components based on an established scheduled preventive maintenance program.
- Assists with electrical and mechanical adjustments to PCA units.
- Monitors system operation, diagnoses equipment failures, and ensures equipment is running safely.
- Performs preventive maintenance on motors, bearings, filters, hoses, connectors, drains, thermostats, and other components.
- Dismantles, repairs, and reassembles equipment or machines for stock replacement or to restore operational status.
- Works in tight and/or high spaces using appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
- Provides direction, guidance, and expertise to other personnel assisting in maintenance and repair activities; conducts training and mentoring responsibilities, assigns tasks, and may assist other employee groups as directed by senior personnel.
- Reads and interprets repair manuals, basic schematics, and supervisor/manager instructions.
- Completes safety training and all required forms and administrative processes.
- Assists technicians with basic maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning, and greasing.
- Follows and complies with company and federally established policies, procedures, and ELS safety programs.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- Valid HVAC Universal license.
- Minimum 3 years of mechanical or electrical experience and at least 1 year of PLC logic experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with basic electrical and/or electronic systems work.
- Ability to work a non‑traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Previous work experience in an airport environment.
- Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge of common industrial concepts, practices, and procedures.
- HVAC, welding/ brazing, or plumbing knowledge and skills.
- 4+ years industrial mechanical and/or electrical background.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with PLC logic, industrial electrical controls troubleshooting and repair, and/or Industrial HVAC certification.
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for actions.

Basic computer knowledge; intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Other Requirements- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Company's insurance policy.
- Must comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.
- Must be committed to working safely, accomplishing all tasks, and promoting a safe work environment at all times.

Works under the Airport Terminal, in conditions that may contain dust, dirt, and continuous noise below OSHA’s action level.
