The Foreman I
- Lighting Retro, will be responsible for supervising and running crews involved in the installation of lighting products safely and neatly in customer's facilities and effectively execute all assigned projects.

Essential Position Functions

  • Manages job site safety, pre-task plan compliance, safety equipment on job sites, and safety equipment expenses on the job site.
  • Manages high-risk activities requiring safety upper management involvement.
  • Manages job site productivity goals.
  • Manages crew productivity and daily quantity tracking.
  • Assigns tasks and directs work to ensure project goals are met safely and efficiently.
  • Assures individuals are meeting productivity goals.
  • Manages project layout, trade coordination, project quality control.
  • Oversees tool and rental expenses on projects.
  • Manages daily reports on job sites being completed, documentation (RFIs, drawings updates, submittals) and job site photo documentation.
  • Manages documentation on all risk management issues.
  • Assigns work for subordinate lead persons and is jointly responsible with the Project Manager for having material, tools, equipment, information, and appropriate manpower in the proper place in a timely fashion.
  • Directs subordinate crew in installation of electrical feeders; equipment such as pumps, motors, and generators; control and distribution apparatus such as switch gear, relays, and circuit breaker panels; lighting fixtures and outlets; and related connections and terminations.
  • Oversees the disposition of required office correspondence and administrative paperwork such as official forms, daily reports, time sheets/tickets, and safety reports.

Non-Essential Position Functions

  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises employees in the lighting retrofit department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Veregy's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or four plus years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years' minimum of lighting and lighting controls experience required.
  • Must be available to work evening hours as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Veregy's services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.
  • Knowledge in all aspects of trade related materials, components, equipment, systems methods of installation, safety procedures, safe work practices, sizing and other calculations, use of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge in the proper use of hand and power tools and operation of related equipment.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret project related drawings and documentation including plans, specifications, drawings, schematics, diagrams, sketches, and blueprints to ensure proper installation means and methods.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
  • Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and staff.
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively before customers and staff.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid driver's license.
  • State issued Journeyman Electrician's license required.
