Position Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to assist Rodbusters to place and secure steel bars or mesh in concrete forms in order to reinforce concrete to support building projects. Use a variety of fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, and hand tools, and support rod-busting tasks.

Ability to work different shifts and long hours (8-12 hours) when necessary, including weekend work and extra hours as required by production needs and at the discretion of the Crew Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Load and unload rebar bundles to or from trucks.
  • Carry single or multiple reinforcing bars in 10, 20, or 40‑foot lengths alone or as part of a lifting team.
  • Deposit or place rebar pieces in final destinations as instructed.
  • Tie pieces of reinforcing bar together using wire and pliers.
  • Use paint to mark reinforcing bars for cutting or tying.
  • Tie reinforcing bars in place horizontally for paving or floors, or vertically for columns and walls.
  • Maintain equipment and tools to ensure long‑lasting use.
  • Maintain confidentiality by not disclosing any confidential, proprietary or trade secret information belonging to the Company.
  • Be responsible for personal safety and the safety of all co‑workers and others the incumbent comes in contact with.
  • Stop work immediately if an unsafe condition or situation is anticipated or observed.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations and Company policies, and report any violations promptly.
  • Perform other related administrative and technical duties as assigned or requested by immediate supervision (e.g., certification training, safety training, procedure review).
Position Requirements

A minimum of one year of experience with finishing concrete structures and pier foundations is preferred, as is one year of experience with steel‑forming systems and pouring concrete. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Additional requirements:

  • Be able to work in constant change in weather and site conditions.
  • Be able to lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach to perform everyday job tasks.
  • Commit to safety responsibilities and actively work toward maintaining a safe workplace.
Physical and Mental Requirements

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.

Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel‑toed shoes, or other equipment as required by the work performed and location.

Must possess the ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as directed by the Safety Representative or other management personnel, including timely evacuation of the work area.
